Bali’s unique cultural heritage has made the island one of the world’s most attractive destinations for lover of art and dance. Some of the colourful festivals and traditional celebrations are held each month at full moon, while other are marked using the traditional Balinese calendar or pawukon which cycles every 210 days. Besides governing the daily rituals and the more elaborate rites of passage, the pawukon system also marks major temple anniversaries.
