How to reach Shurijo Castle Site:
By Monorail: The most convenient way to reach Shurijo Castle Site is by taking the Okinawa Urban Monorail, also known as the Yui Rail. From Naha Airport, you can take the monorail to the Shuri Station (around 25 minutes). From there, it’s a short walk to the castle site.
By Bus: Alternatively, you can take a bus from Naha Bus Terminal to Shurijo Castle Iriguchi Bus Stop. The castle site is within walking distance from the bus stop.
By Car: If you prefer to drive, you can rent a car and use GPS or navigation tools to reach Shurijo Castle Site. There are parking facilities available for visitors.
On Foot: If you are staying in Naha city, and if you enjoy walking, you can also reach the castle site on foot. It’s a pleasant walk, and you can explore the local neighborhoods along the way.
Please note that as of my last update in September 2021, Shurijo Castle was still undergoing restoration work due to a devastating fire that occurred in 2019. Be sure to check for the latest information and access conditions before planning your visit. Despite the restoration work, the castle site remains a historically and culturally significant attraction in Okinawa.
