Flower Clock
Located at the English Garden (Jardin Anglais), Geneva’s famous “Flower Clock” is a renewable living masterpiece, and a symbol of the city’s watchmaking industry. The clock tells the time accurately and comprises of about 12,000 flowers and plants. The floral arrangements and decor change every season, thereby making this a popular photo point for visitors.
Cruise on Lake Geneva
During the summer, a wide variety of boat cruises operate from Geneva. Visitors can choose from options ranging from lunch and dinner cruises to day excursion trips. A relaxing journey on one of the Belle Époque boats is a must for visitors. The Geneva cruises are also starting points for tours into other destinations like Montreux, Lausanne and Vevey.
Jet d’Eau
The world-famous Jet d’Eau is a water jet which shoots out water 140 m high and at a speed of 200 kmph. It can be viewed from the Geneva Harbour or even reached for an up-close experience via a stone jetty from the lake’s left bank.
United Nations in Europe
Built at the heart of Ariana Park, the Palais des Nations is the European headquarters of the United Nations. Individual sections are open to the public such as the Consultation Hall, which is decorated with magnificent works of art. Furthermore, the Palais opens its doors daily and provides fascinating guided tours.
Geneva’s Old Town
La Vieille Ville, Geneva’s Old Town, is a glimpse into the city’s 2000-year-old history. In the midst of its numerous galleries, museums, fountains and boutique shops lie popular highlights like St. Pierre’s Cathedral, City Hall with its five historical cannons and Place du Bourg-de-Four, Geneva’s oldest city square located in the heart of Old Town.
